Get your heart beating on the nice whitewater of Norwalk River, and do pop by Rockwood Lake, it's a scenic lake. Doral Arrowwood Conference Resort is a delightful spot to get some rest. Summertime at Putnam Lake comes with high temperatures in the 80's, and throughout the night it cools down to the 60's. The winter       brings highs down to the 30's while the cold winter nights at Putnam Lake are in the 10's. So much exciting stuff to do at Putnam Lake, so little time. It's a pleasant idea to check out Wilshire Pond Brook, it's right next door to Putnam Lake; Caumsett State Park is a great place to go. This lake is so wonderful. If you're a golfer then a great close by course is Griffith E Harris Golf Course; the friendly folks of Poughkeepsie-Newburgh-Middletown like to                  hang out nearby. This lake is so wonderful. A day at Hawthorne Beach near Putnam Lake is time well spent, and if you came for an overnight stay Tyler Hill Camp is a wonderful spot to camp. At Putnam Reservoir Dam near Putnam Lake there are some interesting things to see, and West Fork Pond is a nearby lake that you could go to. Camping is available at Soundview Sports, and there are swamps here too, Wolf Swamp is in the neighborhood.
