You'll need more than a day to discover everything Powers Lake has to offer, you can camp at Aces High RV Park, and the summit of Artillery Hill can be distinguished from Powers Lake. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Hilltop Inn-Niantic is a good spot to spend a night or two, and if you're here and you like golf, you can pop by Cedar Ridge Golf Course. There's so much to do here at Powers Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Rocky Neck

| | State Park is a pleasant spot for that. Dry warm beds await you at Days Inn Niantic, and get your heart pumping on the brilliant whitewater of Salmon River. Powers Lake Dam is scenic and it's next to Powers Lake; Darrow Pond is a nearby lake that you could stop at. Powers Lake really is in the middle of a scenic outdoors paradise. Bathing Beach is practically right here. Powers Lake is a pretty wet place mostly with a good deal of rain; most of the rain falls through November, and the driest of the months is February. This lake is so wonderful. A lake close
by is Dodson Pond, and there's a delightful forest called Nehantic State Forest. Summertime highs at Powers Lake usually tend to be in the 80's, and throughout summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. For the duration of the winter
highs are in the 30's, and night lows through the wintertime for Powers Lake tend to be in the 10's. While you're here at Powers Lake you will meet lots of people from nearby Norwich-New London, and you can always enjoy a lazy day on the beach at Giants Neck Beach.

Odetah Campground
 | 11 miles away I am staying at odatah camp ground as I write this thay have wi-fi which is great. This is our first time here and we love it. we will be comming back many more times. We are staying in a nice cabin, but thay have very good camp sites as well. are cabin has a fridge,doubble bed,three twin beds but the (twins are a little narrow). This morning we played horseshoes Yhe seasonal campers were very under standing of are unfamiliarity with the game and had a wonderful time.we then went swimming in the lake. that was great. we then went in the pool and the hottub. hottub was nice and big. we then played shuffleboard and went to a barbeque(exellent ribs)and listen to a very good band. All in one day. can't wait for tomorrow.... |

 | 16 miles away THe fishermen aren't nice here, especially in the Fly fishing area, we caught a lot of heck from them last year. MAde the trip no fun, I won't return. Hidden Acres Family Campground
 | 18 miles away I took my two sons here for a week this summer and it was awesome!! We went in the middle of the summer and the weather was pretty good.? We had a couple good rainstorms at night but it always cleared up for the day.? My kids loved swimming in the pool and the river.? The river was so warm and if you went out to the big rocks the water was rough and felt like a hot tub!!? My sons (7 and 4&1/2)had a blast riding their scooters all over the campgrounds with the other kids.? They spent most of their time trying to catch frogs and tadpoles and playing at the playground.? We went to the ceramic shop and painted a keepsake for home.? We will definately be going back next year.? My kids want to go for two weeks this time but we will see.... |
