Not far from Poquonock Reservoir you get some magnificent water scenery at Poquonock Reservoir Dam, and a delightful close by hotel is Howard Johnson Express Inn -Groton. A day at Bluff Point Beach in close proximity to Poquonock Reservoir is time well spent; lots of folks from Norwich-New London come here. And if that's not sufficient, there's a lot more to do near Poquonock Reservoir. Swamps like Birch Plain       Creek Tidal Marsh are fun to go to, and a quick journey to Beaverdam Brook is without doubt a great idea. Poquonock Reservoir is a pretty wet place frequently with a good deal of precipitation; the month with most of the rain is November while June is mostly the driest month.
