     The best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of nearby Powder Ridge, and Plants Pond is a location with many visitors from New Haven-Milford. This lake is so wonderful. If the weather is magnificent here at Plants Pond, you can go for a hike along the Tunxis Trail, and Mount Southington is a very popular ski area in the vicinity. The Mattatuck Trail is a pleasant hiking trail in close proximity to Plants Pond, and most likely you're looking for close  
   by lakes? Sure, LaCourse Pond is just a very short distance away. Camping is available at Gentile's Camp Ground; a good nearby hotel is Comfort Suites Southington.
So many amusing things near Plants Pond, simply remarkable. A day at Dossin Park Beach in close proximity to Plants Pond is time well spent, and if you need a site to stay Residence Inn Southington is a nice choice. Yep, outdoors entertaining stuff to do are truly bountiful here at Plants Pond.
 
               A brilliant place for whitewater paddling near Plants Pond is Farmington River - Riverton, and a round of golf at nearby Pine Valley Golf Course is a great way to kill some time. Near Plants Pond you locate the Quinnipiac Trail which is a pleasant hiking trail; why not camp at Black Rock State Park while you're here at Plants Pond.
High temperatures at Plants Pond during the summer months are in the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures descend down into the 50's. Highs during the winter are usually in the 20's, and winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Plants Pond. This lake is so wonderful. You can run the rapids of Farmington River - Collinsville near Plants Pond; why not check out close by Dayton Brook since you're here at Plants Pond. A visit to Sleeping Giant State Park invigorates the soul; if you've had enough of Plants Pond, Black Pond is close by.
A great deal of precipitation falls at Plants Pond; through the month of August you get the most rain around here, and February meanwhile is the driest month.
