     A brilliant site to camp here at Parkins Ponds is Looking Glass Hill Campgrounds, and Parkins Ponds is in close proximity to Southford Falls State Park which is a gorgeous location. The vista of pretty Brushy Hill near Parkins Ponds is pleasant, and folks from Torrington love to come here. Parkins Ponds is a relatively wet place generally with a lot of precipitation; most of the rain falls through August; February on the other hand is the driest. On a good day  
   at Parkins Ponds you can take a hike along the Mattatuck Trail.
This lake is so wonderful. Pomperaug Golf Club is a golf course in the vicinity of Parkins Ponds, and why not camp at Cozy Hills Campground if you're here at Parkins Ponds. While you're here at Parkins Ponds you can take a hike along the Naugatuck Trail, and if you come at the right time of year, Bantam River offers some splendid whitewater. This lake is so wonderful. Going for a hike along the
 
               Mattatuck Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this neighborhood; go to nearby Alder Swamp.
Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Shepaug River, and a charming lake like Ricker Pond is a good place to take a look at. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this place. If you're here at Parkins Ponds, you could pop by Carmel Hill Brook; magnificent skiing awaits you at Woodbury. Summertime highs at Parkins Ponds mostly tend to be in the 80's. Through the moonlight hours it's usually in the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 30's; after the sun is down during the winter temperatures at Parkins Ponds drop into the 10's.
Now, you may think that's loads but there's even more entertaining stuff to do here at Parkins Ponds. If you need a place to stay Crowne Plaza Hotel SOUTHBURY is a brilliant choice; Mohawk Mountain has magnificent slopes and a friendly staff. You'll stumble on a charming lake called Crystal Lake near Parkins Ponds, and dry warm beds await you at Heritage Hotel.
