The Mattatuck Trail is a nice hiking trail near Park Pond, and hey, Fox Brook is a fine local stream. A magnificent site for whitewater paddling near Park Pond is Still River; the top of Mount Ouleout is easily distinguished from Park Pond. Just can't get enough of Park Pond. Going for a hike on the Tunxis Trail is always a nice adventure, and a splendid nearby hotel is Quality Inn & Suites. Through the summertime months, highs mostly are in the 80's at

| | Park Pond, and the night is a tad chillier of course, usually in the 50's. For the duration of the winter highs are in the 30's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Park Pond. This lake is so wonderful. What would winter be without some skiing at Mohawk Mountain, and if you came to camp Laurel Crest Campground is a great location to do that. Gotta ski! experience. This lake is so wonderful. Yankee Pedlar Inn is a delightful place to get some rest; a lake nearby is Winchester Lake. So much entertaining stuff to do at Park Pond, so little time. Near Park Pond you stumble on the
Mattatuck Trail which is a great hiking trail; don't leave without stopping by John A. Minetto State Park. Why not go to Park Pond Dam since you're here, and you'll almost certainly meet some folks from Torrington here. All the
water falling down from the sky makes Park Pond a wet spot; during the month of August you get the most rain around here, and January meanwhile is the driest month. You can run the rapids of Sandy Brook River next to Park Pond, and Park Pond is not the only site nearby, Park Pond is a nearby lake.
