     The slopes of Powder Ridge are so inviting noone can resist; after a long day outdoors Comfort Suites Southington is a fine spot to spend a night or two. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Park Pond has to offer, you can camp at Camp Eagle Feather, and the wonderful folks of New Haven-Milford like to hang out close by. A visit to Dossin Park Beach right next door to Park Pond is always a perfect idea; going for a hike along the Tunxis Trail will  
   let you absorb the natural beauty of this vicinity. But wait, there's more to do right next door to Park Pond. If you need a site to stay Residence Inn Southington is a good choice, and some of the water close by flows, like Eightmile River.
This place, Park Pond, it completely has so much outdoors amusing stuff. Park Pond is right next door to Spring Lake Dam which is a gorgeous place positively worth visiting; if the weather is pleasant, you can go for a
 
               hike along the Quinnipiac Trail. The high level of rainfall makes Park Pond a reasonably wet place; of all the months in a year August is the one with the most rain, and the driest month is February. At Park Pond through the summer highs are in the 80's with nighttime lows in the 50's. Daytime highs during the winter are in the 30's while Park Pond night low temperatures during the winter are in the 10's.
While you're here at Park Pond, you could also go to pretty Black Pond, and whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend Farmington River - Collinsville. Mount Southington is a great local ski area; if you're here you can take a hike along the Mattatuck Trail. Golf can be played at Hawk's Landing Country Club.
This lake is so wonderful. There's so much to do here at Park Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Gentile's Camp Ground is a great site for that; Sleeping Giant State Park is worth visiting. This lake is so wonderful. Plants Pond is a nearby lake that you could stop by; get your pulse rate up on the glorious whitewater of Farmington River - Riverton.
