Not far from Number One Pond, you'll discover Number Two Pond which is a pretty lake; you can stay the night at Wolf's Den Family Campground. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Executive Inn and Suites Old Saybrook is a nice spot to spend a night or two. A swamp like Babcock Swamp close to Number One Pond has lots of out of the ordinary things to see, and Number One Pond is a perfect location to visit for more than one day, Devil's Hopyard State

| | Park is a perfect location to camp nearby. Lakes? Sure, Cone Pond is in close proximity, and Babcock Pond Dam is a charming place. The high level of rainfall makes Number One Pond a quite wet place; of all the months in a year May is the one with the most rain, and July is the month with the least moisture. Brook is a pleasant local stream, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Roaring Brook River. For the duration of the summertime months highs here at Number One Pond get into the 80's with nighttime lows in the 60's. During the wintertime the highs are commonly in the 30's, and nighttime lows in the 10's for Number One Pond.

 | 16 miles away I am staying at odatah camp ground as I write this thay have wi-fi which is great. This is our first time here and we love it. we will be comming back many more times. We are staying in a nice cabin, but thay have very good camp sites as well. are cabin has a fridge,doubble bed,three twin beds but the (twins are a little narrow). This morning we played horseshoes Yhe seasonal campers were very under standing of are unfamiliarity with the game and had a wonderful time.we then went swimming in the lake. that was great. we then went in the pool and the hottub. hottub was nice and big. we then played shuffleboard and went to a barbeque(exellent ribs)and listen to a very good band. All in one day. can't wait for tomorrow.... |
