    Norton Pond is a great lake in an area with lots of outdoors fun all around. You just ought to like Norton Pond. There is a good hiking trail in the vicinity of Norton Pond called the Mattabesset Trail, and the best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of close by Mount Southington. You think that's enough? Just getting warmed up. Lots of folks from Hartford-West Hartford-East Hartford come to Norton Pond, and dry warm beds await you at Days Inn Berlin  
   CT. Norton Pond generally gets a good deal of precipitation; May is the month that gets the most rain while February is ordinarily the driest month.
This lake is so wonderful. A day at scenic Dossin Park Beach close to Norton Pond is a brilliant thing to do, and Wadsworth Falls State Park is a glorious location to stretch your legs a bit. Hart Ponds is a brilliant lake in the vicinity of Norton Pond, and going for a hike on the Washington Trail is always
 
               a good adventure. There's some flowing water close by, Belcher Brook is a stream you can stop by while you're here, and you can stay the night at Camp Eagle Feather.
The warmest time of the year at Norton Pond arrives with high temperatures in the 80's. Summer night lows descend down to the 50's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 30's, and through the dark hours in the winter at Norton Pond temperatures sink to the 10's. Go for a hike on the Metacomet Trail, and in the neighborhood of Norton Pond you stumble on a golf course called Pistol Creek Golf Club. After a long day outdoors Best Western New England Inn & Suites is a great spot to spend a night or two, and there are some pleasant whitewater spots on Roaring Brook River.
There's whitewater on Farmington River - Collinsville for all you adrenaline rush seekers, and on a beautiful day you acquire a good vista of Lamentation Mountain from Norton Pond. This lake is so wonderful. This lake is so wonderful. Norton Pond is near Kensington Dam which is a delightful place certainly worth going to; Powder Ridge is a very popular ski area in close proximity.
There's so much to do here at Norton Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Little City Campground is a brilliant location for that, and there are other places here than Norton Pond, for example Silver Lake.
