Camping at Lone Oak Camp Sites is always a pleasant experience, and hiking is a popular thing to do around North Pond; Wild Cat Trail is a fine local trail. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Tollgate Hill Inn is a great place to spend a night or two, and a magnificent site to camp here at North       Pond is Valley In The Pines Campground. There's just no way anybody can get bored here at North Pond. Good hiking is available along the Mattatuck Trail; a good close by hotel is Blackberry River Inn. The Elbow Trail offers hiking at its best, and while you're here, you could also have a look at charming North Pond. At North Pond you always meet someone from Torrington, and here at North Pond you can see Ivy Mountain. This lake is so wonderful. You'll come                  across a gorgeous lake called Gillette Reservoir near North Pond, and Mohawk Mountain has great slopes and a friendly staff. Any time is a good time at North Pond if you fancy the outdoors. An attention-grabbing thing to have a look at close to North Pond is North Pond Dam, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Housatonic River. North Pond is a wet site that gets a large amount of rainfall; the wettest month of the year is generally August, that's the one that rains the most, and February on the other hand is the driest. Dennis Hill State Park is worth visiting if you're at North Pond; Ski Sundown is a very popular ski area in close proximity.
