Get covered with water paddling on Sandy Brook River, and swamps don’t sound that perfect but Wildcat Swamp next to North Pond is reasonably perfect. Camping at Lone Oak Camp Sites is always a pleasant experience, and hiking is a popular thing to do around North Pond; Wild Cat Trail is a fine local trail. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Tollgate Hill Inn is a great place to spend a night or two, and a magnificent site to camp here at North

Good hiking is available along the Mattatuck Trail; a good close by hotel is Blackberry River Inn. The Elbow Trail offers hiking at its best, and while you're here, you could also have a look at charming North Pond. a look at close to North Pond is North Pond Dam, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Housatonic River. North Pond is a wet site that gets a large amount of rainfall; the wettest month of the year is generally August, that's the
one that rains the most, and February on the other hand is the driest. Dennis Hill State Park is worth visiting if you're at North Pond; Ski Sundown is a very popular ski area in close proximity. During the warmest time of the
year at North Pond temperatures are typically in the 80's. Throughout the moonlight hours it's commonly in the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 30's, and after the sun is down during the wintertime temperatures at North Pond sink into the 0's.
