Many people like to go to North Lake. Hiking along the Appalachian National Scenic Trail is delightful fun, and if you need a site to stay Wellesley Inn Armonk is a pleasant choice. The panorama of gorgeous Cooney Hill near North Lake is great; as expected Bear Gutter Creek is a picturesque stream that is worth a visit. This lake is so wonderful. While you're here at North Lake, you could also have a look at pretty Rye Lake, and you can stay the night at Soundview

| | Sports. If you want a magnificent time in the great outdoors, just come on down to North Lake. North Lake is close to Rockefeller State Park which is a beautiful site, and enjoy a round of golf at Golf Club of Purchase. All through the warm days of summer, highs regularly are in the 80's at North Lake. Once the sun is down it sinks down to the 60's. During the wintertime highs are regularly in the 30's, and night lows during the winter for North Lake tend to | |

be in the 10's. This lake is so wonderful. There's so much to do here at North Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Camp Echo Lake is a brilliant place for that, and Doral Arrowwood Conference Resort is a great location to
get some rest. Kensico Lake is a nearby lake that you could pop by; if you're dropping by from Poughkeepsie-Newburgh-Middletown, you won't be the only one. The scenery at American Can Company Dam in the vicinity of North Lake
is beautiful, and a visit to Big Peninsula is always a splendid idea. North Lake ordinarily gets a large amount of rain; May is when you get the most rain here, and the driest month is January.

Dixon Lake
 | 16 miles away ... ridge rd.back in the late sixties ,and every Christmas the people of the surrounding lk. There were none on the east side of the lake at the time. Well we would collect our Christmas trees around fifty or so and dig them into the ice about forty ft apart and make two rows . Then we would all set a time and light em,, and we would skate , fish ,whatever the lines of trees ran from the n.west dock to the east..the clam bakes were held at the other lk..haven just up the stream that ran along my house..After the dam broke from lk haven the water flooded down into our house..What a flood..seems after that we sold the house to a fireman ,,and then our course by accident the house burnt down ,,and I thought fireman were supposed to put out fires not start em .hello to all that still prevail on chestnut ridge. yea I also went to school with Henry Winkler.. And back then we used to trick or treat all the way down to route six..camp sycamore well I still have my green card with the red paper wonder if its still good..the camp was but a lake with a cottage or two..and a cool as heck dirt road.... |

 | 19 miles away KISSENA LAKE IS ONE BEAUTIFUL BODY OF WATER!! AND TO THINK, ITS IN NYC IN QUEENS COUNTY. THE SURROUNDING PARK IS GREAT ALSO!! SO MUCH TO DO HERE. THE LAKE IS PRETTY COOL, HAS LARGEMOUTH BASS, SUNFISH. ALTHOUGH THE FISH DONT BITE ALL DAY, THEY EAT AT DIFFERENT TIMES MAKING IT PERFECT TO TRY TO GET YOUNGSTERS HOOKED ON FISHING. THE PARK IS GREAT TO JUST WALK IN THE WOODS OR GO FISHING AND TO FORGET ABOUT LIFE FOR A WHILE!!... |
