American Can Company Dam is an exciting thing to check out. Lakes? Sure, Rye Lake is around here. The high level of rain makes North Lake a pretty wet site; the month with most of the rain is May while January is usually the driest month. A great close by hotel is Doral Arrowwood Conference Resort, and a trip to Rockefeller State Park rejuvenates the soul. There are other spots here than North Lake, for example Kensico Lake, and don't leave North Lake without

| | first going for a hike along the Appalachian National Scenic Trail. This lake is so wonderful. For you golfers we recommend close by Golf Club of Purchase. There's so much to do here at North Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Camp Echo Lake is a great spot for that. This lake is so wonderful. Don't forget to take a pleasant little journey to Bear Gutter Creek, and if you need a location to stay La Quinta Inn and Suites Armonk is a great choice. | |

You can catch a glimpse of Cooney Hill from North Lake, and you can stay the night at Soundview Sports. For the duration of the summer here at North Lake, high temperatures mostly get into the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures
fall down into the 60's. High temperatures during the winter are normally in the 30's; overnight lows all through the wintertime for North Lake tend to be in the 10's. So many amusing things to do at North Lake, so little time. Here

Dixon Lake
 | 16 miles away ... sixties ,and every Christmas the people of the surrounding lk. There were none on the east side of the lake at the time. Well we would collect our Christmas trees around fifty or so and dig them into the ice about forty ft apart and make two rows . Then we would all set a time and light em,, and we would skate , fish ,whatever the lines of trees ran from the n.west dock to the east..the clam bakes were held at the other lk..haven just up the stream that ran along my house..After the dam broke from lk haven the water flooded down into our house..What a flood..seems after that we sold the house to a fireman ,,and then our course by accident the house burnt down ,,and I thought fireman were supposed to put out fires not start em .hello to all that still prevail on chestnut ridge. yea I also went to school with Henry Winkler.. And back then we used to trick or treat all the way down to route six..camp sycamore well I still have my green card with the red paper wonder if its still good..the camp was but a lake with a cottage or two..and a cool as heck dirt road..I went to Austin rd elem.... |

 | 19 miles away KISSENA LAKE IS ONE BEAUTIFUL BODY OF WATER!! AND TO THINK, ITS IN NYC IN QUEENS COUNTY. THE SURROUNDING PARK IS GREAT ALSO!! SO MUCH TO DO HERE. THE LAKE IS PRETTY COOL, HAS LARGEMOUTH BASS, SUNFISH. ALTHOUGH THE FISH DONT BITE ALL DAY, THEY EAT AT DIFFERENT TIMES MAKING IT PERFECT TO TRY TO GET YOUNGSTERS HOOKED ON FISHING. THE PARK IS GREAT TO JUST WALK IN THE WOODS OR GO FISHING AND TO FORGET ABOUT LIFE FOR A WHILE!!... |
