The slopes of Thunder Ridge are so inviting noone can resist, and if you get bored of Noroneke Lake you could also explore close by Candees Pond. Get yourself into a kayak and hit East Aspetuck River; if you're looking for some flowing water? Try Branchville Brook. This lake is so wonderful. Johns Pond is a nearby lake that you could pop by, and swamps like Spectacle Swamp in the neighborhood of Noroneke Lake make for good spots to stop at. Spectacle Swamp Dam is

| | striking and it's right next door to Noroneke Lake, and if you're popping by from Poughkeepsie-Newburgh-Middletown, you won't be the only one. Seth Low Pierrepont State Park Reserve is a great place to stretch your legs a bit, and a glorious nearby hotel is Hilton Garden Inn Norwalk. from Noroneke Lake. There's so much to do here at Noroneke Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Kettletown State Park is a great place for that. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Noroneke Lake has to offer,
you can camp at Mountain Workshop, and if you need a place to stay Days Inn Ridgefield is a good choice. This lake is so wonderful. Glide down the rapids of Norwalk River in a kayak; a round of golf at nearby Ridgefield Golf Course
is a good way to kill some time. Noroneke Lake frequently gets a large amount of rainfall; the month of May is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest month is January.
