Nepaug Reservoir is a site with many visitors from Torrington, and there's a good forest called Nepaug State Forest. After a long day outdoors Avon Old Farms is a tremendous location to spend a night or two, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Nepaug Reservoir; Mattatuck Trail is a nice       local trail. This lake is so wonderful. Residence Inn Hartford Avon is a glorious place to get some rest; you have to pop by Zwick Point when you're here. This lake is so wonderful. Don't leave Nepaug Reservoir without first going for a hike along the Tunxis Trail. Cherry Brook is one of the streams nearby that might be worth checking out. Lakes? Sure, Collinsville Reservoir is in the neighborhood. This lake is so wonderful. At Nepaug Reservoir you can catch                  a glimpse of Sweetheart Mountain, and there's perfect hiking along the Metacomet Trail. If you want to play some golf, you're in luck because Simsbury Farms Golf Course is nearby, and Austin Hawes Campground is a tremendous campground nearby. But wait, there's more to do next to Nepaug Reservoir. American Legion State Forest is a perfect local campground, and you'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Mount Southington while you're here. High temperatures at Nepaug Reservoir throughout the summer are in the 70's; during summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. Daytime highs through the wintertime are in the 20's while the cold winter nights at Nepaug Reservoir are in the 10's. All the water falling down from the sky makes Nepaug Reservoir a wet place; throughout the month of August you get the most rain around here, and January is when it's the driest. Nepaug Dam is not far at all from Nepaug Reservoir, and whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend Farmington River - Collinsville. This place, Nepaug Reservoir, it clearly has so much outdoors enjoyable stuff.
