     Mount Tom Pond is a nice lake to visit. If the weather is fine here at Mount Tom Pond, you can go for a hike along the Appalachian National Scenic Trail, and in case you don’t have a problem getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Shepaug River. Homestead Inn is a magnificent site to get some rest, and there are plenty of people from Torrington here at Mount Tom Pond. This lake is so wonderful. If you want to hit the beach, Morris Town  
   Beach is close at hand, and going for a hike along the Mattatuck Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this region.
This lake is so wonderful. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 80's to Mount Tom Pond. All through the moonlight hours it's usually in the 50's. Throughout the winter highs are in the 30's while Mount Tom Pond night low temperatures all through the winter are in the 10's. Mount Tom Pond ordinarily gets much precipitation;
 
               the month with most of the rain is August; the driest of the months is February.
This lake is so wonderful. Mt. Tom State Park is worth visiting if you're at Mount Tom Pond, and if you need a place to stay Tollgate Hill Inn is a good choice. You just can't picture the amount of outdoors entertaining things the area close to Mount Tom Pond has to offer. If you came for an overnight stay Cozy Hills Campground is a brilliant place to camp, and you'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Woodbury if you're here. Shepaug Reservoir Dam is a location that is near Mount Tom Pond, and not far from Mount Tom Pond you'll hit upon Emmons Pond which is a delightful lake.
Mount Tom Pond really is in the middle of a delightful outdoors paradise. Litchfield Town Beach is in close proximity to Mount Tom Pond if you're in a beach type of mood; camping is available at Looking Glass Hill Campgrounds. Getting to Bantam River from Mount Tom Pond is uncomplicated; lovely scenery and great skiing is what you obtain at Mohawk Mountain. There are other sites here than Mount Tom Pond, for example Shepaug Reservoir, and the sight of Little Mount Tom is beautiful.
Bantam River is a pleasant whitewater spot close to Mount Tom Pond; for you golfers we recommend nearby Stonybrook Golf Course.
