What a nice lake Mohawk Pond is. This lake is so wonderful. The Appalachian National Scenic Trail is a delightful hiking trail next to Mohawk Pond, and Mohawk Mountain State Park is both great and pretty. Litchfield Town Beach is in close proximity to Mohawk Pond and is a gorgeous beach to visit, and lakes are such serene spots, why not stop by Tyler Lake. This lake is so wonderful. | | in the 80's, and the nighttime is a tad colder of course, mostly in the 50's. Through the winter highs are in the 30's while Mohawk Pond nighttime low temperatures throughout the wintertime are in the 10's. Golf Course is close by, and the summit of Jennings Hill can be made out from Mohawk Pond. If the weather is fine here at Mohawk Pond, you can go for a hike along the Mattatuck Trail, and glide down the rapids of Shepaug River
in a kayak. Hart Pond is a good lake next to Mohawk Pond, and swamps like Bear Swamp are fun to pop by. This lake is so wonderful. Near Mohawk Pond you hit upon the Elbow Trail which is a wonderful hiking trail, and if you're visiting
from Torrington, you won't be the only one. Having a fine time at Mohawk Pond is easy. Paddling on Bantam River is so much fun, and if you came for an overnight stay Valley In The Pines Campground is a good site to camp. Really
magnificent skiing awaits you at Mohawk Mountain; a perfect nearby hotel is Blackberry River Inn. So many fun things near Mohawk Pond, absolutely mind-boggling. Mohawk State Forest is a forest near Mohawk Pond that you can go to,
and Housatonic Meadows State Park is a great local campground. If you need a location to stay Tollgate Hill Inn is a fine choice; Woodbury has glorious slopes and a friendly staff.
