Nothing beats kicking back at Dossin Park Beach. Lakes? Sure, West Brook Reservoir is close by. At Mixville Pond during the summer highs are in the 80's; the night is quite colder of course, frequently in the 50's. Throughout the winter highs are in the 30's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Mixville Pond. Everybody close by loves skiing at Powder Ridge; not far from Mixville Pond you'll locate Cheshire Reservoir which is a picturesque lake. The

| | Tunxis Trail offers hiking at its best, and dry warm beds await you at Red Carpet Inn and Suites - Cheshire. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this place. If you came for an overnight stay Black Rock State Park is a tremendous place to camp, and the skiing at Mount Southington is good. This lake is so wonderful. There's glorious hiking along the Quinnipiac Trail, and Holiday Inn WATERBURY is a good place to get some rest. Now, you may imagine that's plenty | |

but there's even more fun stuff to do here at Mixville Pond. Why not camp at Gentile's Camp Ground while you're here at Mixville Pond, and Mixville Pond Dam is a location that is close to Mixville Pond. This lake is so wonderful.
Take a side spree to Cuff Brook; if you're visiting from New Haven-Milford, you won't be the only one. You get a great view of Bluff Head from Mixville Pond; Sleeping Giant State Park is both nice and picturesque. Mixville Pond is
right by the Mattatuck Trail; Farmington River - Collinsville has a fine whitewater paddling spot close by. Mixville Pond is a wet spot that gets lots of rainfall; during August this area sees the most rain, and the driest month of the year is February. A round of golf at nearby Highland Golf Course is a great way to kill some time.
