Why not stop by Miscus Pond if you're passing through these parts. All the water falling down from the sky makes Miscus Pond a wet place; the month of June is the wettest with most of the rain while February is typically the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. Gotta ski! Mohawk Mountain is a glorious location to do that, and you can stay the night at Macedonia Brook State Park. Allen Dam is a delightful place close to Miscus Pond, and do take a hike on
| | | |
| | the Tunxis Trail. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this location. Some close by water includes Lovers Lane Brook, and what would winter be without some skiing at Ski Sundown. You could also take a look at Patterson Pond while you're here at Miscus Pond; it's nearby, and you can always enjoy a lazy day on the beach at Litchfield Town Beach. Now, you may imagine that's lots but there's even more amusing stuff to do here at Miscus Pond. The Mattatuck Trail | |

offers hiking at its best; a nice spot for whitewater paddling is Bantam River. John A. Minetto State Park is a gorgeous location any time of year, and one of the main features of the surroundings of Miscus Pond is Besse Hill.
If you're a golfer then a great nearby course is Stonybrook Golf Course, and if you need a location to stay Quality Inn & Suites is a wonderful choice. In case you don’t mind getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on
Shepaug River, and Burr Pond State Park is a good campground nearby. Summertime at Miscus Pond arrives with high temperatures in the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures drop down into the 50's. Highs during the wintertime
are ordinarily in the 20's, and during the dark hours in the wintertime at Miscus Pond temperatures plunge to the 10's. This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at Tollgate Hill Inn, and why not take a refreshing hike along
the Mattatuck Trail. This lake is so wonderful. You'll meet a lot of folks from Torrington here, and if you've had enough of Miscus Pond, Crystal Lake is close by.
