Minetto State Park near Miscus Pond is a nice thing to do, and you can always enjoy a lazy day on the beach at       Litchfield Town Beach. The high level of rain makes Miscus Pond a rather wet location; most of the rain falls during June, and February meanwhile is the driest month. Summertime highs at Miscus Pond generally tend to be in the 70's while overnight lows are ordinarily in the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 20's, and night lows at Miscus Pond during the winter generally drop into the 10's. This lake is so wonderful. You could also stop by Crystal Lake since you're here at Miscus Pond; it's nearby, and why not head up to Mohawk Mountain and strap some skis to your feet. A lake close by is Patterson Pond, and the summit of Besse Hill can be seen from Miscus Pond. There's just no way somebody can get bored here at Miscus Pond. The Mattatuck Trail is a good hiking trail close to Miscus Pond; Miscus Pond is a magnificent place to visit for more than one day, Macedonia Brook State Park is a magnificent place to camp nearby. You can run the rapids of Shepaug River close to Miscus Pond, and Burr Pond State Park is a nice campground nearby. This lake is so wonderful. There is a wonderful hiking trail next to Miscus Pond called the Mattatuck Trail; if you're looking for some flowing water? Try Lovers Lane Brook.
