If you like lakes and you're in this part of Connecticut you can check out Milton Pond. For the period of the long summer days at Milton Pond temperatures are ordinarily in the 80's. Once the sun is down it falls down to the 50's. For the duration of the wintertime the highs are mostly in the 30's; winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Milton Pond. While you're here at Milton Pond you will meet lots of folks from nearby Torrington, and the top of Mount Prospect is easily seen from Milton Pond. time. Stay the night at Valley In The Pines Campground, and the slopes of Woodbury are so inviting nobody can resist. This lake is so wonderful. You could also stop at Lake Floren since you're here at Milton Pond; it's nearby,
and on a glorious day you can pop by Bear Swamp, a swamp in the neighborhood of Milton Pond. You don’t have to go far from Milton Pond to see the water at Goose Pond Dam; one of the best things about this place is its proximity to
Morris Town Beach. So much exciting stuff to do here at Milton Pond, too brilliant to be true. If you come at the right time of year, Bantam River offers some good whitewater. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Milton
Pond has to offer, you can camp at Hemlock Hill Camp Resort and Co-operative. Go for a hike on the Mattatuck Trail; dry warm beds await you at Tollgate Hill Inn. All the water falling down from the sky makes Milton Pond a wet
site; August is when you get the most rain here, and the driest month of the year is February. Milton Pond is not the only site nearby, Goose Pond is a nearby lake, and a quick journey to Marshepaug River is definitely a tremendous
idea. This lake is so wonderful. There are some splendid whitewater spots on Shepaug River, and if you need a place to stay Days Inn - Torrington is a good choice.
