West Woods Trail. Going for a hike on the Mattabesset Trail is always a great adventure, and not far from Messerschmidt Pond you'll stumble on Wrights Pond which is a picturesque lake. A tremendous location to camp here at Messerschmidt
Pond is Wolf's Den Family Campground, and since you're here at Messerschmidt Pond, checking out The Ledges is a must. This lake is so wonderful. All through the warm months highs here at Messerschmidt Pond reach the 80's while
night lows are usually in the 60's. All through the winter the highs are usually in the 30's with temperatures at Messerschmidt Pond dipping down into the 10's all through winter nights. After a long day outdoors A Victorian Village
Inn is a fine site to spend a night or two, and fine hiking is available along the Washington Trail. This lake is so wonderful. A round of golf at nearby Hillside Links Golf Course is a wonderful way to kill some time, and if
you want to hit the beach, Grove Beach is in the neighborhood. Salmon River is a fine whitewater spot right next door to Messerschmidt Pond, and if you need a location to stay Waters Edge Resort and Spa is a good choice. Selden Neck
