After a long day outdoors Comfort Inn Guilford is a wonderful place to spend a night or two, and paddling on Roaring Brook River is so much fun. What a site this is for outdoors people. On a perfect day at Maupas Pond you can take a hike along the Mattabesset Trail; a round of golf at nearby Guilford Lakes Golf Course is a great way to kill some time. Life's too short to enjoy all the entertaining stuff in the neighborhood of Maupas Pond. Chatfield Hollow State

| | Park is a perfect location to pop by, and a splendid beach close by is Jacobs Public Beach. This lake is so wonderful. A day at Circle Beach right next door to Maupas Pond is time well spent; you can stay the night at Hammonasset Beach State Park. Through the summer, highs ordinarily are in the 80's at Maupas Pond, and during the night it cools down to the 50's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 30's; after the sun is down during the wintertime | |

temperatures at Maupas Pond sink into the 10's. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Maupas Pond has to offer, you can camp at Riverdale Camp Sites, and obviously, this is a good region for people who like lakes, Upper
Guilford Lake is a lake in the neighborhood. This lake is so wonderful. Maupas Pond Dam is a spot that is near Maupas Pond, and what would winter be without some skiing at Mount Southington. Swamps like Ivy Swamp are fun to visit,
and of course Dowd Hollow Brook flows through this vicinity. The West Woods Trail is a wonderful hiking trail near Maupas Pond, and Tower Inn and Suites is a great site to get some rest. This lake is so wonderful. You can make
out Hungry Hill from Maupas Pond, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always take a look at nearby Guilford Lakes. Here at Maupas Pond there are plenty of folks from New Haven-Milford, and whitewater paddling is
nice on Hammonasset River. Maupas Pond sees pretty high levels of rain; May is when you get the most rain here, and February is the month with the least moisture. There is a great hiking trail in close proximity to Maupas Pond called the Washington Trail, and hey, Gotta ski right? Powder Ridge is a delightful site to do that.
