Fort Hill is clearly visible from Lower Lagoon, and camping at Seaport Campground is always a good experience. Haley Farm State Park is a good site to stretch your legs a bit; there's some flowing water close by, Eccleston Brook is a stream you can stop by during your stay. This lake is so wonderful. The Narragansett Trail is a great hiking trail in the vicinity of Lower Lagoon; if you need a place to stay Howard Johnson Express       Inn -Groton is a splendid choice. Lower Lagoon is a reasonably wet place usually with a good deal of precipitation; through November this area sees the most rain while June is regularly the driest month. While staying at Lower Lagoon you could always explore Horseshoe Reef, and while you're here you must check out Beebe Cove. This lake is so wonderful. For you golfers we recommend close by Birch Plain Golf Course & Driving Range, and there are plenty of                  people from Norwich-New London here at Lower Lagoon. At Lower Lagoon during the long summer days highs are in the 80's. Summer night lows descend down to the 60's. Throughout the winter highs are commonly in the 30's; night lows in the 10's for Lower Lagoon. You definitely have to go for Lower Lagoon.
