A journey to Arrow Point in the neighborhood of Loos Pond is always a delightful idea; lots of folks from Hartford-West Hartford-East Hartford come here. After a long day outdoors Clarion Suites Inn Manchester is a nice spot to spend a night or two; why not take a refreshing hike along the Mattabesset Trail. This lake is so wonderful. A day on the slopes of Powder Ridge is just what you need; hiking along the Washington Trail is magnificent fun. Camping at Nelson's

| | Family Campground is always a pleasant experience. At Loos Pond during the summer highs are in the 80's while overnight lows are regularly in the 60's. The winter brings highs down to the 30's, and through the dark hours in the winter at Loos Pond temperatures drop to the 10's. And that's not all you can do here at Loos Pond. Lakes? whitewater paddling near Loos Pond is Salmon River; Hales Brook is one of the streams close by that might be worth stopping at. An afternoon playing golf at Blackledge Country Club is always a joy, and in the event that you don’t
have a problem getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Roaring Brook River. A great place to camp here at Loos Pond is Markham Meadows Campgrounds, and not far from Loos Pond you'll find Strong Pond which
is a beautiful lake. If the weather is pretty, you obtain a good panorama of Baker Hill from Loos Pond, and Hurd State Park is a brilliant place to take a look at. Loos Pond gets a good deal of water; the wettest month of the
year is mostly May, that's the one that rains the most; the driest of the months is February. That right there is loads already, but it continues; Loos Pond has it all. Pocotopaug Lake Dam has delightful water scenery and it's right next door to Loos Pond; do take a hike on the Mattabesset Trail.
