Hammock River is a delightful place to go to, and the Mattabesset Trail is a glorious hiking trail nearby. High temperatures at Lockwood Lake all through the warm months are in the 80's while night lows are usually in the 60's. Through the wintertime the highs are regularly in the 30's, and all through the       dark hours in the wintertime at Lockwood Lake temperatures descend to the 10's. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Salmon River; a day at charming Clinton Beach in the vicinity of Lockwood Lake is a wonderful thing to do. The summit of Cow Hill can be made out from Lockwood Lake, and Waters Edge Resort and Spa is a brilliant site to get some rest. This lake is so wonderful. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this location. Going for a hike on the Washington Trail is always a great adventure, and a golf course close by is Hillside Links Golf Course.
