This lake is so wonderful. What a spot this is for outdoors people. If you like skiing, you're in luck; Woodbury is in close proximity to Litchfield Reservoir; if you came to camp Valley In The Pines Campground is a nice location to do that. There's so much to do here at Litchfield Reservoir that you need to camp here       for a while, Hemlock Hill Camp Resort and Co-operative is a nice place for that, and near Litchfield Reservoir you find a golf course called Stonybrook Golf Course. Dry warm beds await you at Yankee Pedlar Inn, and while you're here you can take a hike along the Appalachian National Scenic Trail. Litchfield Reservoir in fact is in the middle of a pretty outdoors paradise. If you want to hit the beach, Litchfield Town Beach is around here, and people from                  Torrington love to come here. The snow is great at Mohawk Mountain, and Shepaug River has a glorious whitewater paddling spot nearby. This lake is so wonderful. Lakes are good; Hatchaloosie Reservoir is a lake that's right next door to Litchfield Reservoir, and in case you don’t mind getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Bantam River. Going for a hike along the Mattatuck Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this neighborhood, and Long Swamp is an exciting swamp in the neighborhood of Litchfield Reservoir. During the warmest time of the year highs here at Litchfield Reservoir get into the 80's. Once the sun is down it plunges down to the 50's. Highs all through the wintertime are ordinarily in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Litchfield Reservoir are in the 10's. Litchfield Reservoir sees pretty high levels of rain; August is when you get the most rain here, and February is when it's the driest. This lake is so wonderful. Going to John A. Minetto State Park in the neighborhood of Litchfield Reservoir is a magnificent thing to do, and don't forget to take a great little spree to Fox Brook.
