Connecticut has many beautiful lakes and Litchfield Reservoir is one of them. Litchfield Reservoir is a magnificent location to visit for more than one day, Valley In The Pines Campground is a magnificent location to camp nearby, and skiing at Woodbury is one of those things you just have to do. Hemlock Hill Camp Resort and Co-operative is a wonderful campground nearby, and one of the dominant traits of the surroundings of Litchfield Reservoir is Brush Hill.

| | But wait, there's more to do next to Litchfield Reservoir. Float down the rapids of Bantam River in a kayak, and do explore Dog Pond, it's a gorgeous lake. There are swamps here too; Long Swamp is close at hand, and you'll stumble on a wonderful lake called Hatchaloosie Reservoir. This lake is so wonderful. Shepaug River offers some brilliant whitewater; pretty scenery and tremendous skiing is what you get at Mohawk Mountain. Dry warm beds await you at Tollgate Hill Inn; going for a hike on the Appalachian National Scenic Trail is always
a fine adventure. Litchfield Reservoir gets a good deal of water; most of the rain falls through August, and the driest month of the year is February. There is a great hiking trail right next door to Litchfield Reservoir called
the Mattatuck Trail; at Litchfield Reservoir you always meet someone from Torrington. This lake is so wonderful. All through the warm months, highs usually are in the 80's at Litchfield Reservoir with overnight lows in the 50's. For
the period of the winter this place gets highs in the 30's, and through the dark hours in the winter at Litchfield Reservoir temperatures drop to the 10's. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a location to stay Quality Inn & Suites is a good choice, and for you golfers we recommend close by Stonybrook Golf Course.
