If you are in Middlesex county it's always a good idea to stop by Leesville Pond. This lake is so wonderful. If you come at the right time of year, Salmon River offers some good whitewater, and Leesville Dam is a pretty site. A great sight of gorgeous Cave Hill is available from Leesville Pond; going for a hike on the Mattabesset Trail is always a delightful adventure. If you came for an overnight stay Wolf's Den Family Campground is a pleasant spot to camp,

| | and great hiking is available along the Mattabesset Trail. Throughout the warm days of summer, highs mostly are in the 80's at Leesville Pond. When the night sets in temperatures plunge down into the 60's. Through the winter this place gets highs in the 30's, and nighttime lows through the winter for Leesville Pond tend to be in the 10's. and the driest month of the year is February. What a site this is for outdoors people. Do schedule some time to go to Graveyard Point close to Leesville Pond if you have a chance, and Johnson Millpond is a glorious lake nearby.
Dry warm beds await you at Inn At Middletown, and you can go for a hike on the Washington Trail. There are some brilliant whitewater spots on Roaring Brook River, and folks from Hartford-West Hartford-East Hartford love to come here.
Leesville Pond really is in the middle of a pretty outdoors paradise. Places like Haddam Meadows State Park are delightful to stop by, and why not pop by nearby Dykas Brook if you're here at Leesville Pond. Why not camp at Markham
Meadows Campgrounds if you're here at Leesville Pond, and you'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Powder Ridge if you're here. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a place to stay A Victorian Village Inn is a tremendous choice, and a wonderful lake like Dogwood Pond is a great place to take a look at.
