Mansfield Hollow State Park is a nice location to go to on a lovely day, and Knowlton Hill can be seen from Leander Pond. A wonderful nearby hotel is Nathan Hale Inn And Conference Center, and why not take a look at McLaughlin Pond Dam while you're here. If only every site had this much outdoors exciting things, what a great earth it would be. This is a perfect region for folks who like lakes. Knowlton Pond is a lake in the neighborhood, and if you come at the
right time of year, Natchaug River offers some delightful whitewater. This lake is so wonderful. There are some glorious whitewater spots on Quaboag River. There's so much to do here at Leander Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Brialee Campground is a great site for that.
All through the summertime months here at Leander Pond, high temperatures ordinarily reach the 80's with night lows in the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 30's

with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Leander Pond. Lots of folks from Willimantic come to Leander Pond, and as expected Bebbington Brook flows through this region. This lake is so wonderful. Swamps don’t sound that pleasant but Fox Swamp next to Leander Pond is rather pleasant, and Best Western Regent Inn is a great place to get some rest.
All the water falling down from the sky makes Leander Pond a wet spot; the month with most of the rain is November, and the driest month is February. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always stop at close by Varga Pond, and Leander Pond is great enough to spend more than a day at, Moosemeadow Camping Resort is a great local campground.
