     Good hiking is available along the Washington Trail; Laurelwood Pond is a brilliant place to visit for more than one day, Hammonasset Beach State Park is a brilliant place to camp nearby. Nearby lakes? Sure, Bartlett Pond is near Laurelwood Pond, and if you need a place to stay Comfort Inn Guilford is a glorious choice. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this place. Float down the rapids of Roaring Brook River in a kayak; a day at East Rive Beach is time well  
   spent. Man, is there heaps of entertaining things to do close to Laurelwood Pond. Dry warm beds await you at Tower Inn and Suites, and here at Laurelwood Pond you can catch a glimpse of Cranberry Hill.
The high level of precipitation makes Laurelwood Pond a relatively wet site; May is when you get the most rain here, and February on the other hand is the driest. Stay the night at Riverdale Camp Sites, and skiing at Powder Ridge is one of those things you just
 
               should do. Through the warmest time of the year, highs typically are in the 80's at Laurelwood Pond while night lows are frequently in the 50's. Highs during the winter are generally in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Laurelwood Pond are in the 10's.
If you're here at Laurelwood Pond and you like golf, you can explore Guilford Lakes Golf Course; you can go for a hike on the Mattabesset Trail. Don't leave Laurelwood Pond without first going for a hike along the West Woods Trail; one of the best things about this spot is its proximity to Circle Beach. This lake is so wonderful.
This lake is so wonderful. A quick tour to Hammonasset River next to Laurelwood Pond is a tremendous idea, and Laurelwood Pond Dam is a delightful place, definitely worth stopping at. This lake is so wonderful. Swamps like Cedar Swamp next to Laurelwood Pond make for splendid spots to take a look at, and a visit to Chatfield Hollow State Park when you're here is never a bad idea. Get drenched paddling on Hammonasset River; if you've had enough of Laurelwood Pond, Hammonasset Reservoir is nearby.

THe fishermen aren't nice here, especially in the Fly fishing area, we caught a lot of heck from them last year. MAde the trip no fun, I won't return.
