     Laurel Lake is always a pleasure to visit. If you came to camp Kettletown State Park is a great place to do that, and Laurel Lake is not the only spot close by, Beaver Brook Pond is a close by lake. This lake is so wonderful. Beaver Brook is a glorious place to visit, and you can hit the slopes at Thunder Ridge close by. Laurel Lake is not far at all from Bridgeport-Stamford-Norwalk, and Laurel Lake is great enough to spend more than a day at, Hither Hills State  
   Park is a great local campground.
You absolutely have to have a thing about Laurel Lake. Norwalk River has a pleasant whitewater paddling spot close by, and Putnam Memorial Park is a delightful site to stretch your legs a bit. Summertime at Laurel Lake arrives with high temperatures in the 80's, and through the night it cools down to the 60's. Throughout the winter highs are generally in the 30's; overnight lows at Laurel Lake through the wintertime usually
 
               descend into the 10's. Dry warm beds await you at Inn At National Hall, and perfect water scenery is available at Beaver Brook Pond Dam in the neighborhood of Laurel Lake.
Camfield Hill is easy to spot from Laurel Lake, and Southport Beach is a beautiful beach to explore. Whitewater paddling is nice on East Aspetuck River. Laurel Lake is a wet location that gets much rainfall; during May this area sees the most rain; the driest month is February.
This lake is so wonderful. If you need a place to stay The Inn at National Hall is a magnificent choice, and a trip to Sasco Hill Beach is always a magnificent idea.
