The beauty of Laurel Lake is reason enough to stop by. Not far from Laurel Lake you acquire some good water scenery at Beaver Brook Pond Dam, and you can never get enough of the wonderful skiing at Thunder Ridge. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always stop by nearby Beaver Brook Pond, and if you want to hit the beach, Southport Beach is in close proximity. This lake is so wonderful. location to spend a night or two. Putnam Memorial Park is a nice place to go if you're at Laurel Lake. There's so much to do here at Laurel Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Mountain Workshop is a splendid site for that.
This lake is so wonderful. You can run the rapids of East Aspetuck River near Laurel Lake, and the peak of Camfield Hill can be made out from Laurel Lake. The warmest time of the year at Laurel Lake comes with high temperatures in
the 80's, and all through summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. For the duration of the winter highs are in the 30's, and overnight lows at Laurel Lake during the winter mostly sink into the 10's. On a fine day it's a great
idea to spend the day at Sasco Hill Beach, and Laurel Lake is great enough to spend more than a day at, Kettletown State Park is a great local campground. A good deal of rainfall falls at Laurel Lake; the month of May is the wettest
with most of the rain, and February is when it's the driest. And if that's not enough, there's a lot more to do near Laurel Lake.
