What a nice lake Lake Watrous is. Lake Watrous is wonderful enough to spend more than a day at, Gentile's Camp Ground is a wonderful local campground, and why not take a little visit to Sanford Brook since you're here. At Lake Watrous you can catch a sight of Carrington Hill, and while you're here and you like golf, you can stop at Laurel View Country Club Golf. You think that's enough? Just getting warmed up. This lake is so wonderful. There's no such thing as a bad day of skiing at nearby Mount Southington, and Econo Lodge Conference Center is a fine location to get some rest. Going for a hike on the Quinnipiac Trail is always a perfect adventure, and after a long day outdoors Best Value Inn is a magnificent location to spend a night or two. This lake is so wonderful. Watrous Dam is worth visiting if you're here, and there are plenty of folks from New Haven-Milford here at Lake Watrous.
Going to West Rock Ridge State Park right next door to Lake Watrous is a nice thing to do; close by you find
the Regicides Trail which is a pleasant hiking trail. Life's too short to enjoy all the cool things near Lake Watrous. Go for a hike on the Naugatuck Trail, and camping at Black Rock State Park is always a good experience.
Through
the warm months, highs mostly are in the 80's at Lake Watrous, and the overnight is somewhat colder of course, mostly in the 50's. All through the wintertime highs are commonly in the 30's; overnight lows at Lake Watrous during the
wintertime mostly drop into the 10's. The high level of precipitation makes Lake Watrous a relatively wet site; the month with most of the rain is May; the driest of the months is February.
