It's always fun to stop by Lake Mcdonough. This lake is so wonderful. You're sure to bump into some smiling people from Torrington here, and if you need a place to stay Simsbury Inn is a great choice. Go for a hike on the Mattatuck Trail. You just can't imagine the amount of outdoors fun things the area in close proximity to Lake Mcdonough has to offer. Skiing at Mount Southington is one of those things you just have to do; a tremendous location for whitewater

Richards Corner Dam is worth checking out if you're here, and Lake Mcdonough is a nice place to visit for more than one day, Austin Hawes Campground is a nice place to camp nearby. The warmest time of the year at Lake Mcdonough arrives with high temperatures in the 70's. Once the sun is down it falls down to the 50's. During the winter the highs are ordinarily in the 20's; night lows in the 10's for Lake Mcdonough. | |

You have to unquestionably pop by Slashers Ledges since you're here at Lake Mcdonough; don't leave without dropping by Stratton Brook State Park. American Legion State Forest is a good campground nearby, and not far from Lake
Mcdonough you'll hit upon Collinsville Reservoir which is a charming lake. If you don’t have a problem getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Farmington River, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can
always go to nearby Barkhamsted Reservoir. Very beautiful scenery and good skiing is what you get at Ski Sundown, and going for a hike on the Tunxis Trail is always a great adventure. This lake is so wonderful. Near Lake Mcdonough
you hit upon the Metacomet Trail which is a great hiking trail, and dry warm beds await you at Residence Inn By Marriott Hartford Avon. And that's not all you can do here at Lake Mcdonough. A quick visit to Beaver Brook near Lake
Mcdonough is a glorious idea; Breezy Hill is a peak you can observe from Lake Mcdonough. All the water falling down from the sky makes Lake Mcdonough a wet place; of all the months in a year August is the one with the most rain, and the driest of the months is January.
