Lake Mcdonough is right by the Tunxis Trail, also Richards Corner Dam is worth taking a look at if you're here. At Lake Mcdonough you can catch a sight of Breezy Hill. There's so much to do here at Lake Mcdonough that you need to camp here for a while, Austin Hawes Campground is a tremendous location for that. This lake is so wonderful. If you want to go to some out of the ordinary stuff, go to Slashers Ledges, and dry warm beds await you at Simsbury Inn.

| | Get yourself into a kayak and hit Farmington River; do take a hike on the Mattatuck Trail. And if you're still looking for more outdoors exciting stuff just keep reading. Beaver Brook is a stunning stream that is worth taking a look at, and Ski Sundown has fine slopes and a friendly staff. You're sure to come across some wonderful folks from Torrington here. Reservoir if you're here at Lake Mcdonough; it's close by, and you can hit the slopes at Mount Southington close by. This lake is so wonderful. Residence Inn Hartford Avon is a pleasant place to get some rest, and if you've had
enough of Lake Mcdonough, Barkhamsted Reservoir is close by. Stay the night at American Legion State Forest, and Stratton Brook State Park is a nice spot to go. Through the months of summer at Lake Mcdonough highs are mostly in the
70's. During the moonlight hours it's typically in the 50's. Throughout the wintertime the highs are generally in the 20's; all through the dark hours in the wintertime at Lake Mcdonough temperatures drop to the 10's. Why not
take a refreshing hike along the Metacomet Trail, and glide down the rapids of Farmington River - Riverton in a kayak. Lake Mcdonough gets a large amount of water; most of the rain falls through August, and January is the month with the least moisture.
