If you are in Litchfield county it's always a good idea to stop by Lake Floren. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this place. Still Brook is a good local stream, and you should unquestionably pop by pretty Litchfield Town Beach while you're here. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Tollgate Hill Inn is a tremendous place to spend a night or two, and a visit here wouldn’t be complete without a spree to nearby Mt. Tom State Park. Lake Floren is

| | not far at all from Torrington, and there are wonderful places to look at along the Appalachian National Scenic Trail. This lake is so wonderful. What would winter be without some skiing at Mohawk Mountain, and if you want to hit the beach, Morris Town Beach is around here. is a great local campground, and the top of Barney Hill is easily seen from Lake Floren. You'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Woodbury while you're here; explore close by Ripley Swamp. Litchfield Inn is a fine
place to get some rest, and a golf course nearby is Stonybrook Golf Course. High temperatures at Lake Floren through the summertime are in the 80's. Summer overnight lows drop down to the 50's. Throughout the wintertime highs are
frequently in the 30's; overnight lows at Lake Floren all through the wintertime frequently dip into the 10's. Bantam River is a good whitewater spot in close proximity to Lake Floren, and lakes are such peaceful places, why not go
to Bantam River Reservoir. This lake is so wonderful. Don't leave Lake Floren without first going for a hike along the Mattatuck Trail. Lake Floren gets a large amount of water; the wettest month of the year is typically August,
that's the one that rains the most while February is commonly the driest month. If you came to camp Hemlock Hill Camp Resort and Co-operative is a good place to do that, and in the event that you don’t have a problem getting soaked,
you can always go whitewater paddling on Shepaug River. Going for a hike on the Mattatuck Trail is always a great adventure, and at Lake Floren Dam near Lake Floren there are some exciting things to see.
