The beauty of Ivy Mountain Pond attracts many people from all around. Camping is available at Hemlock Hill Camp Resort and Co-operative, and a great place to camp here at Ivy Mountain Pond is Mohawk Campground. This is a popular spot for folks from Torrington; Ivy Mountain Pond is not the only location nearby, Gillette Reservoir is a nearby lake. | | John A. Minetto State Park, and you can go for a hike on the Wild Cat Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Here at Ivy Mountain Pond you can make out Beech Hill; going for a hike on the Elbow Trail is always a fine adventure. Throughout the warm days of summer at Ivy Mountain Pond temperatures are commonly in the 80's, and during the night it cools down to the 50's. dipping down into the 0's during winter nights. This lake is so wonderful. Gotta ski! Mohawk Mountain is a tremendous place to do that, and dry warm beds await you at Litchfield Inn. Whitewater paddling is wonderful on Bantam
River, and nearby you come across the Mattatuck Trail which is a great hiking trail. Very delightful scenery and good skiing is what you get at Ski Sundown, and paddling on Housatonic River is so much fun. So much amusing stuff
to do at Ivy Mountain Pond, so little time. If you need a site to stay Tollgate Hill Inn is a wonderful choice, and Ivy Mountain Pond Dam is a striking place. Ivy Mountain Pond generally gets a lot of rain; the month with most of the rain is August while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation.
