     In the event that you don't mind getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Hammonasset River, and Horse Pond is a nearby lake that you could visit. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Hummers Pond; West Woods Trail is a perfect local trail, and East Rive Beach is a beach close by that you can stop by. The high level of rain makes Hummers Pond a quite wet site; throughout April this area sees the most rain, and February is the month with  
   the least moisture. Madison Beach Hotel is a pleasant spot to get some rest; Hummers Pond is right by the Washington Trail.
If you get bored of Hummers Pond, you could also pop by nearby Schumanns Pond, and nothing beats kicking back at Hammonasset Beach. This lake is so wonderful. You undeniably have to check out Hammonasset Beach State Park while you're here at Hummers Pond; Salmon River has a pleasant whitewater paddling spot nearby.
You'll wish for
 
               more hours in a day to enjoy all the cool things at Hummers Pond. There's so much to do here at Hummers Pond that you need to camp here for a while, River Road Campground is a perfect place for that; there's always Boulder Lake Dam to visit near Hummers Pond. Don't try to stop me, cause I'm havin' a good time here at Hummers Pond. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Mattabesset Trail; Madison Reef is in close proximity, and is a glorious spot. This lake is so wonderful. Don't forget to take a great little tour to Fence Creek, and Powder Ridge is a very popular ski area in the neighborhood.
This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at A Victorian Village Inn, and Hummers Pond is glorious enough to spend more than a day at, Riverdale Camp Sites is a glorious local campground. High temperatures at Hummers Pond throughout the summertime months are in the 80's. Summer overnight lows drop down to the 60's. All through the winter highs are mostly in the 30's, and nighttime lows at Hummers Pond during the winter mostly fall into the 10's. The sight of scenic Camp Hill near Hummers Pond is perfect; Webster Point is quite close.

THe fishermen aren't nice here, especially in the Fly fishing area, we caught a lot of heck from them last year. MAde the trip no fun, I won't return.
