That right there is plenty already, but it goes on; Horse Pond has it all. There are some great whitewater spots on Hammonasset River. There's so much to do here at Horse Pond that you need to camp here for a while, River Road Campground is a nice location for that. Going for a hike on the Mattabesset Trail is always a magnificent adventure, and if you want to hit the beach, Hammonasset Beach is in the vicinity.       For the duration of the summertime here at Horse Pond, high temperatures frequently reach the 80's. Summer overnight lows drop down to the 60's. High temperatures throughout the wintertime are normally in the 30's, and all through the dark hours in the winter at Horse Pond temperatures descend to the 10's. Camp Hill is a peak you can spot from Horse Pond, and do stop at Hummers Pond, it's a lovely lake. There are brilliant locations to explore along the                  Washington Trail, and dry warm beds await you at Madison Beach Hotel. This lake is so wonderful. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Horse Pond has to offer, you can camp at Riverdale Camp Sites, and naturally Chatfield Hollow Brook is a striking stream that is worth stopping at.
