Beautiful Horse Pond has much to offer visitors. That right there is plenty already, but it goes on; Horse Pond has it all. There are some great whitewater spots on Hammonasset River. There's so much to do here at Horse Pond that you need to camp here for a while, River Road Campground is a nice location for that. Going for a hike on the Mattabesset Trail is always a magnificent adventure, and if you want to hit the beach, Hammonasset Beach is in the vicinity.

| | For the duration of the summertime here at Horse Pond, high temperatures frequently reach the 80's. Summer overnight lows drop down to the 60's. High temperatures throughout the wintertime are normally in the 30's, and all through the dark hours in the winter at Horse Pond temperatures descend to the 10's. Washington Trail, and dry warm beds await you at Madison Beach Hotel. This lake is so wonderful. Boulder Lake Dam is an out of the ordinary thing to check out, and you'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Powder Ridge
since you're here. If you need a spot to stay A Victorian Village Inn is a good choice. This lake is so wonderful. You'll locate a delightful lake called Schumanns Pond near Horse Pond, and East Rive Beach is pretty nearby if
you're in a beach type of mood. There's whitewater on Salmon River for all you adrenaline junkies, and a perfect place like Hammonasset Beach State Park is too great to leave out. Webster Point is near Horse Pond and is a magnificent
site to go to, and nearby you hit upon the West Woods Trail which is a fine hiking trail. And that's not all you can do here at Horse Pond. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Horse Pond has to offer, you can camp at
Riverdale Camp Sites, and naturally Chatfield Hollow Brook is a striking stream that is worth stopping at. Horse Pond sees pretty high levels of rainfall; most of the rain falls throughout April; February is the month with the least moisture.
