     Dry warm beds await you at Madison Beach Hotel, and Powder Ridge has delightful slopes and a friendly staff. You think that's sufficient? Just getting warmed up. While you're here at Horse Pond you can take a hike along the Mattabesset Trail, and here at Horse Pond you can observe Camp Hill. Time spent at Hammonasset Beach near Horse Pond is always wonderful, and if you need a place to stay A Victorian Village Inn is a good choice. Summertime highs at Horse Pond  
   ordinarily tend to be in the 80's with overnight lows in the 60's. Daytime highs throughout the wintertime are in the 30's; winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Horse Pond.
Boulder Lake Dam is a place that is in close proximity to Horse Pond, and on a great day you can take a hike along the Washington Trail. Horse Pond mostly gets a great deal of rain; throughout the month of April you get the most rain around here; February meanwhile is the driest month.
 
               Get yourself into a kayak and hit Hammonasset River, and River Road Campground is a good campground nearby.
If you came for an overnight stay Riverdale Camp Sites is a magnificent spot to camp; there are some great whitewater spots on Salmon River. This lake is so wonderful. Have a glorious hiking adventure along the West Woods Trail, and as expected Chatfield Hollow Brook flows through this area. Horse Pond is right next door to Hammonasset Beach State Park which is a picturesque site.
