     Skiing at Woodbury is one of those things you just have to do. Lakes? Sure, Baummer Pond is in the neighborhood. Hop Brook Lake is a relatively wet place typically with a large amount of rain; the wettest month of the year is generally August, that's the one that rains the most; the driest month of the year is February. A spree to Southford Falls State Park when you're here at Hop Brook Lake is a pleasant idea, and the sight of striking City Hill is nice. This lake  
   is so wonderful. Go for a hike on the Mattatuck Trail; lots of folks from New Haven-Milford come here.
An afternoon playing golf at Golf Club at Oxford is always a joy, and a good location for whitewater paddling is Farmington River - Collinsville. And if you're still looking for more outdoors fun things just keep reading. You can run the rapids of Bantam River right next door to Hop Brook Lake, and obviously Cold Spring Brook is a beautiful stream that
 
               is worth stopping at. This lake is so wonderful. Black Rock State Park is a glorious local campground; there are other places here than Hop Brook Lake, for example Barbers Pond.
All through the warm days of summer here at Hop Brook Lake, high temperatures frequently reach the 70's. Through the dark hours of summer temperatures drop down into the 50's. Highs all through the wintertime are commonly in the 20's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Hop Brook Lake. Dry warm beds await you at Hampton Inn Waterbury. You can never get enough of the great skiing at Mount Southington, and Tamarack Swamp is a swamp in the neighborhood of Hop Brook Lake.
And if that's not enough, there's heaps more to do next to Hop Brook Lake. If you need a location to stay Comfort Inn Naugatuck is a magnificent choice; an interesting thing to go to next to Hop Brook Lake is Hop Brook Dam. Why not camp at Branchbrook Campground since you're here at Hop Brook Lake, and going for a hike on the Naugatuck Trail is always a pleasant adventure.
