This lake is so wonderful. Newton Brainard Forest is worth visiting, and there's wonderful hiking along the Mattabesset Trail. Gale Pond Dam is a striking location close to Hoe Pond, and the snow is splendid at Ski Sundown. Avon Old Farms is a good place to get some rest, and King Phillip Brook is near Hoe Pond and is always a       pleasure to go to. A great place to camp here at Hoe Pond is Golden Acres Campground, and a day on the slopes of Mount Southington is just what you need. Hoe Pond gets a lot of water; May is the month that gets the most rain while February is regularly the driest month. This place, Hoe Pond, it truly has so much outdoors amusing stuff. There are magnificent places to discover along the Metacomet Trail, and paddling on Farmington River is so much fun. This                  lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Simsbury Inn is a nice place to spend a night or two, and drift down the rapids of Farmington River - Collinsville in a kayak. But wait, there's more to do next to Hoe Pond. Why not camp at Southwick Acres Campground if you're here at Hoe Pond, and don't leave Hoe Pond without first going for a hike along the Tunxis Trail. Nearby lakes? Sure, Gale Pond is close to Hoe Pond, and folks from Hartford-West Hartford-East Hartford love to come here. Through the days of summer, highs frequently are in the 80's at Hoe Pond. For the period of the dark hours of summer temperatures dip down into the 50's. High temperatures during the wintertime are normally in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Hoe Pond are in the 0's. A golf course close to Hoe Pond is Blue Fox Run Golf Course; if you've had enough of Hoe Pond, Ely Pond is close by. This lake is so wonderful.
