This lake is so wonderful. During your tour to Hitchcock Lake you'll meet some folks from New Haven-Milford for sure. There's so much to do here at Hitchcock Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Black Rock State Park is a great place for that. Hiking along the Mattatuck Trail is perfect fun, and a lake nearby is Southington Reservoir Number 2. Whitewater paddling is great on Farmington River - Riverton.       You could also take a look at Theriaults Ice Pond if you're here at Hitchcock Lake; it's close by, and if you need a spot to stay Super 8 Motel - Waterbury is a great choice. A lot of rainfall falls at Hitchcock Lake; most of the rain falls during August, and February is when it's the driest. Through the summertime months here at Hitchcock Lake, high temperatures regularly get into the 70's. All through the dark hours of summer temperatures dip down into the                  50's. High temperatures all through the winter are normally in the 20's, and night lows all through the wintertime for Hitchcock Lake tend to be in the 10's. This lake is so wonderful. Mount Southington is a pleasant local ski area, and after a long day outdoors Holiday Inn WATERBURY is a wonderful place to spend a night or two. That right there is loads already, but it goes on; Hitchcock Lake has it all. Take a side trip to Hitchcock Lake Brook, and a golf course close by is Highland Golf Course. Everybody nearby loves skiing at Ski Sundown, and if you don’t have a problem getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Farmington River - Collinsville. Hitchcock Lake is near Hitchcock Lake Dam which is a striking place positively worth checking out, and needless to say, everyone loves Sleeping Giant State Park. This is no place for people who don’t like to have a good time. While you're here at Hitchcock Lake you can take a hike along the Naugatuck Trail, and you can catch a sight of Southington Mountain from Hitchcock Lake.
