Here at Hitchcock Lake you'll probably meet some folks from New Haven-Milford, and you can go for a hike on the Tunxis Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at Holiday Inn WATERBURY; you can spot Southington Mountain from Hitchcock Lake. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always check out nearby Theriaults Ice Pond; if you come at the right time of year, Farmington River - Collinsville offers some splendid whitewater. What a spot
this is for outdoors people. Very great water scenery is available at Hitchcock Lake Dam in the neighborhood of Hitchcock Lake; there are great places to look at along the Mattatuck Trail.
All the water falling down from the sky makes Hitchcock Lake a wet site; August is the wettest month with most rain, and February on the other hand is the driest. Good hiking is available along the Naugatuck Trail, and camping at Black Rock State Park is always a great

experience. This lake is so wonderful. You'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Mount Southington if you're here; a tour to Sleeping Giant State Park is a great idea.
A round of golf at nearby Highland Golf Course is a fine way to kill some time. Lakes are good; Southington Reservoir Number 2 is a lake that's right next door to Hitchcock Lake. Skiing at Ski Sundown is one of those things you just must do, and if you came to camp Gentile's Camp Ground is a splendid place to do that. During the warm days of summer at Hitchcock Lake temperatures are ordinarily in the 70's, and through the night it cools down to the 50's. The winter comes with highs in the 20's; winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Hitchcock Lake.
If you need a place to stay Comfort Suites Southington is a tremendous choice. Life's too short to enjoy all the enjoyable stuff right next door to Hitchcock Lake. If you're here at Hitchcock Lake, you could check out Hitchcock Lake Brook, and whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend Farmington River - Riverton.
