Do stop by Highland Lake while you're in this part of Connecticut. On a wonderful day you can stop at Indian Meadow, a swamp near Highland Lake, and hey, Gotta ski right? Ski Sundown is a great location to do that. This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at Quality Inn & Suites, and the cheerful people of Torrington like to hang out close by. This lake is so wonderful. Why not have a look at Bristol Cove also if you're here. There's so much to do

| | here at Highland Lake that you need to camp here for a while, White Pines Campground is a great place for that. There's whitewater on Sandy Brook River for all you adrenaline rush seekers, and going for a hike on the Mattatuck Trail is always a nice adventure. If only every site had this much outdoors amusing stuff, what a great globe it would be. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Highland Lake has to offer, you can camp at Laurel Crest | |

Campground, and if you need a place to stay Days Inn - Torrington is a magnificent choice. The warmest time of the year at Highland Lake arrives with high temperatures in the 80's. Summer nighttime lows sink down to the 50's. Highs
during the winter are mostly in the 30's, and after the sun is down through the wintertime temperatures at Highland Lake fall into the 0's. If you get bored of Highland Lake, you could also visit nearby Mad River Reservoir, and
get your pulse rate up on the magnificent whitewater of Still River. There are splendid sites to explore along the Tunxis Trail, and what would winter be without some skiing at Otis Ridge. The peak of Spencer Hill can be seen from
Highland Lake, and needless to say Colebrook Brook flows through this vicinity. A lake close by is Crystal Lake. Man, is there a load of amusing stuff to do close to Highland Lake. At Highland Lake Dam near Highland Lake there
are some interesting things to see, and you undeniably ought to stop by Burr Pond State Park since you're here. Much precipitation falls at Highland Lake; August is the wettest month with most rain; January on the other hand is the driest.
