     The beauty of Highland Lake attracts many people from all around. You definitely must adore Highland Lake. If you need a location to stay Quality Inn & Suites is a magnificent choice, and you can run the rapids of Still River. This lake is so wonderful. There's whitewater on Sandy Brook River for all you adrenaline rush seekers; White Pines Campground is a pleasant local campground. This lake is so wonderful. Very pretty scenery and fine skiing is what you get  
   at Otis Ridge, and why not visit Bristol Cove also since you're here.
All the water falling down from the sky makes Highland Lake a wet place; most of the rain falls throughout August while January is generally the driest month. Colebrook Brook is a wonderful place to pop by. Yep, outdoors enjoyable things to do are really plentiful here at Highland Lake. Highland Lake Dam is an exciting thing to check out, and swamps can be such out of the ordinary sites,
 
               check out Indian Meadow if you're here at Highland Lake.
Through the summertime months at Highland Lake highs are typically in the 80's while night lows are generally in the 50's. High temperatures during the wintertime are normally in the 30's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Highland Lake. You'll meet a lot of folks from Torrington here, and why not camp at Laurel Crest Campground since you're here at Highland Lake. Good hiking is available along the Tunxis Trail. Lakes? Sure, Rugg Brook Reservoir is in close proximity.
Don't leave Highland Lake without first going for a hike along the Mattatuck Trail, and Burr Pond is a glorious lake close by. Days Inn - Torrington is a magnificent place to get some rest, and Burr Pond State Park is a great place to stretch your legs a bit. Gotta ski! Ski Sundown is a great spot to do that, and you get a great sight of Spencer Hill from here.
