Dry warm beds await you at Quality Inn & Suites; some close by water includes Colebrook Brook. Really perfect skiing awaits you at Ski Sundown; Highland Lake Dam is a picturesque place. Why not take a look at a swamp like Indian Meadow while you're here at Highland Lake; you're probably keen on lakes, Crystal Lake is one of those nearby. If       you want a fine time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Highland Lake. Camping is available at White Pines Campground; if you've had enough of Highland Lake, Mad River Reservoir is nearby. This lake is so wonderful. Lots of folks from Torrington come to Highland Lake, and camping at Laurel Crest Campground is always a fine experience. Going for a hike along the Tunxis Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area. The summit of Spencer                  Hill can be seen from Highland Lake, and Burr Pond State Park is a fine place to stretch your legs a bit. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the fun things at Highland Lake. Do schedule some time to stop at Bristol Cove near Highland Lake if you have a chance; you can have a delightful hiking adventure along the Mattatuck Trail. Summer brings highs in the 80's to Highland Lake, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. Daytime highs throughout the winter are in the 30's, and overnight lows in the 0's for Highland Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Still River is a great whitewater spot right next door to Highland Lake, and if you need a location to stay Days Inn - Torrington is a great choice.
