Dry warm beds await you at Quality Inn & Suites; some close by water includes Colebrook Brook. Really perfect skiing awaits you at Ski Sundown; Highland Lake Dam is a picturesque place. Camping is available at White Pines Campground; if you've had enough of Highland Lake, Mad River Reservoir is nearby. This lake is so wonderful. Lots of folks from Torrington come to Highland Lake, and camping at Laurel Crest Campground is always a fine experience. Hill can be seen from Highland Lake, and Burr Pond State Park is a fine place to stretch your legs a bit. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the fun things at Highland Lake. Do schedule some time to stop at Bristol Cove
near Highland Lake if you have a chance; you can have a delightful hiking adventure along the Mattatuck Trail. Summer brings highs in the 80's to Highland Lake, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. Daytime highs
