are some tremendous whitewater spots on Farmington River, and nearby you stumble on glorious sites like Horseshoe Cove. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Hazel Meadow Pond; Tunxis Trail is a pleasant local trail, and you're
perhaps hooked on lakes, Great Pond is one of those close by. If you're here at Hazel Meadow Pond, you could pop by Grimes Brook, and if you came for an overnight stay Golden Acres Campground is a nice location to camp. An exciting
thing to stop at right next door to Hazel Meadow Pond is Ensign Bickford Dam; if you need a site to stay Simsbury Inn is a nice choice. Hazel Meadow Pond gets much water; August is the wettest month with most rain, and January
is when it's the driest. You'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Mount Southington since you're here; perfect hiking is available along the County Road Trail. This lake is so wonderful. If you come at the right time
of year, Farmington River - Collinsville offers some magnificent whitewater, and in all probability you're looking for nearby lakes? Sure, Ensign Bickford Pond is just a very short distance away. At Hazel Meadow Pond you always
meet someone from Hartford-West Hartford-East Hartford; don't leave Hazel Meadow Pond without first going for a hike along the Metacomet Trail.
