The Mayflower Inn & Spa is a great place to get some rest; the Elbow Trail offers hiking at its best. This lake is so wonderful. Gotta ski! Mohawk Mountain is a good spot to do that, and there's splendid hiking along the Mattatuck Trail. This lake is so wonderful. In the event that you don’t have a problem getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Bantam River, and if you like swamps you're in luck, Bear Swamp is right close by. Just

| | can't get enough of Hawkins Pond. Stay the night at Valley In The Pines Campground, and since you're here, you could stop by Sanders Hill Brook. This lake is so wonderful. Everybody loves Mohawk Mountain State Park, and you'll probably meet some people from Torrington here. that gets a good deal of rainfall; the month with most of the rain is August while February is mostly the driest month. Morris Town Beach is a beach close to Hawkins Pond that you can visit, and dry warm beds await you at Tollgate
Hill Inn. A wonderful place for whitewater paddling in close proximity to Hawkins Pond is Shepaug River; a round of golf at nearby Stonybrook Golf Course is a magnificent way to kill some time. But wait, there's more to do near
Hawkins Pond. A delightful view of charming Jennings Hill is available from Hawkins Pond; what would winter be without some skiing at Woodbury. Throughout the summertime, highs frequently are in the 80's at Hawkins Pond. Throughout
the moonlight hours it's usually in the 50's. For the period of the wintertime highs are regularly in the 30's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Hawkins Pond. Lakes? Sure, Hart Pond is close at hand, and Hawkins Pond is a good place to visit for more than one day, Housatonic Meadows State Park is a good place to camp nearby.
