    A visit to Hatchet Pond is always a good idea. You can run the rapids of Natchaug River in the neighborhood of Hatchet Pond, and going to Quinebaug & Shetucket Rivers Valley National Heritage Corridor is just something you need to do if you haven't yet. Hatchet Pond is a rather wet place commonly with lots of precipitation; the wettest month of the year is ordinarily November, that's the one that rains the most; the driest month is February. This lake is so  
   wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at Sturbridge Days Inn; Hatchet Pond Dam is gorgeous.
Hatchet Pond is a great site to visit for more than one day, Beaver Pines Campground is a great site to camp nearby, and Quaboag River is a brilliant whitewater spot close by. If you adore the outdoors, you'll go for Hatchet Pond. When you're here at Hatchet Pond it's always fun to stop at Bigelow Hollow State Park; nothing beats kicking back at Woodstock Town Beach.
 
               High temperatures at Hatchet Pond through the summertime are in the 80's with night lows in the 50's. Highs through the winter are mostly in the 30's; through the dark hours in the winter at Hatchet Pond temperatures fall to the 10's.
Skiing at Pine Ridge is one of those things you just should do, and a delightful lake like Number Five Reservoir is a fine place to check out. This lake is so wonderful. You'll stumble on a lovely lake called Corbin Wildlife Marsh near Hatchet Pond, and one of the overriding traits of the surroundings of Hatchet Pond is Cat Rocks. So much enjoyable stuff to do here at Hatchet Pond, too brilliant to be true.
After a long day outdoors Travelodge Sturbridge is a great site to spend a night or two, and Hatchet Pond is not far at all from Willimantic. Golf can be played at Hemlock Ridge Golf Course, and Manna Campground is a magnificent local campground.
