There's whitewater on Farmington River - Collinsville for all you adrenaline kick people, and La Quinta Inn and Suites New Britain/Hartford South is a good place to get some rest. The slopes of Mount Southington are so inviting noone can resist, and if you get bored of Hart Ponds you could also have a look at close by Paper Goods Pond. Belcher Brook is one of the streams nearby that might be worth going to, and Wadsworth Falls State Park is a wonderful place to stretch your legs a bit. You can run the rapids of Roaring Brook River near Hart Ponds; Papel Goods Pond is a nearby lake that you could go to. Mattabesset Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area. This lake is so wonderful. The summit of Turkey Hill can be observed from Hart Ponds, and a great spot to camp here at Hart Ponds is Little City Campground.
Powder Ridge is a great local ski area, and the Washington Trail is a perfect hiking trail close by. If the weather is splendid here at Hart Ponds, you can go for a hike along the Metacomet Trail. High temperatures at Hart Ponds during
the long summer days are in the 80's with overnight lows in the 50's. Throughout the wintertime highs are mostly in the 30's while Hart Ponds overnight low temperatures through the winter are in the 10's. This spot is peerless,
just check out all the enjoyable stuff to do near Hart Ponds. Hart Ponds is nice enough to spend more than a day at, Camp Eagle Feather is a nice local campground, and for you golfers we recommend nearby Pistol Creek Golf Club. Hart
Ponds is a wet site that gets a lot of precipitation; May is when you get the most rain here, and the driest of the months is February.
