The beauty of Hart Pond is reason enough to stop by. Hart Pond gets much water; of all the months in a year August is the one with the most rain, and the driest of the months is February. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Hart Pond; Mattatuck Trail is a perfect local trail, and paddling on Bantam River is so much fun. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this place. Pond is magnificent enough to spend more than a day at, Housatonic Meadows State Park is a magnificent local campground. This lake is so wonderful. You get a great vista of Jennings Hill from Hart Pond, and if you're popping by from
Torrington, you won't be the only one. Spend the day on the beach at Litchfield Town Beach while you're here at Hart Pond, and enjoy a round of golf at Stonybrook Golf Course. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 80's
to Hart Pond with overnight lows in the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 30's, and all through the dark hours in the wintertime at Hart Pond temperatures fall to the 10's. Really wonderful skiing awaits you at Mohawk
Mountain, and spots like Mohawk Mountain State Park are magnificent to have a look at. This lake is so wonderful. Marshepaug River is one of the streams close by that might be worth stopping at; Hart Pond is right by the Elbow Trail.
