     You can run the rapids of Roaring Brook River in the neighborhood of Hammonasset Reservoir, and you don’t have to go far from Hammonasset Reservoir to distinguish the water at Hammonasset Reservoir Dam. If you're visiting Hammonasset Reservoir from Hartford-West Hartford-East Hartford, you won't be the only one, and playing golf is lots of fun at Guilford Lakes Golf Course. This lake is so wonderful. If you're here at Hammonasset Reservoir, you could pop by Chatfield  
   Hollow Brook; if you want to hit the beach, Circle Beach is nearby. There's whitewater on Hammonasset River for all you adrenaline people, and if you're here you can take a hike along the West Woods Trail.

               Chatfield Hollow State Park is a magnificent thing to do. If you want a magnificent time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Hammonasset Reservoir. Chestnut Hill is a peak you can spot from Hammonasset Reservoir, and if you need a place to stay Madison Beach Hotel is a nice choice.
Through the months of summer, highs ordinarily are in the 80's at Hammonasset Reservoir with overnight lows in the 50's. During the wintertime this place gets highs in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Hammonasset Reservoir are in the 10's. Be careful coming to Hammonasset Reservoir, you might not ever want to go home again. Tower Inn and Suites is a perfect spot to get some rest; why not head up to Powder Ridge and strap some skis to your feet. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Hammonasset Reservoir has to offer, you can camp at Riverdale Camp Sites; you can have a great hiking adventure along the Washington Trail.
