What a nice lake Hamlin Pond is. The yearly rain here at Hamlin Pond is about average; through the month of May you get the most rain around here; the driest of the months is February. This lake is so wonderful. Hamlin Pond is in the neighborhood of Miles Pond Dam which is a pretty place absolutely worth checking out, and swamps like Pine Swamp are fun to go to. All the outdoors fun things in the vicinity of Hamlin Pond will keep you coming back repeatedly.

| | Housatonic Meadows State Park is a striking place any time of year. There's so much to do here at Hamlin Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Taconic State Park Rudd Pond is a brilliant site for that.

a hike along the Appalachian National Scenic Trail. There is a good hiking trail in close proximity to Hamlin Pond called the Indian Trail; a splendid panorama of beautiful Mount Easter is available.
Through the warm days of summer
highs here at Hamlin Pond get into the 80's; the overnight is rather cooler of course, generally in the 50's. Daytime highs throughout the wintertime are in the 30's; winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Hamlin Pond. Ski Butternut
is a very popular ski area close at hand, and you'll most likely meet some folks from Torrington here. This lake is so wonderful. Stay the night at Housatonic Meadows State Park, and Mohawk Mountain has brilliant slopes and a friendly
staff.
You're perhaps addicted to lakes, Wononpakook Lake is one of those nearby; if you come at the right time of year, Housatonic River offers some tremendous whitewater. Dry warm beds await you at Blackberry River Inn; if you want to hit the beach, Mudge Pond Town Beach is nearby.
