A visit to Hamlin Pond wouldn’t be complete without a visit to nearby Talcott Mountain State Park, and a great place nearby is Cooks Gap. High temperatures at Hamlin Pond through the summer are in the 70's. During the moonlight hours it's frequently in the 50's. During the winter highs are typically in the 20's, and overnight lows at Hamlin Pond all through the wintertime commonly fall into the 10's. Paderewski Pond is a nearby lake that you could take a look at; there's some exciting stuff to observe at Plainville Reservoir Dam in the neighborhood of Hamlin Pond. This lake is so wonderful. Bradley Mountain is clearly visible from Hamlin Pond; don't leave Hamlin Pond without first going for a hike along the Tunxis Trail. If | |

you come at the right time of year, Farmington River offers some tremendous whitewater, and there are plenty of folks from Hartford-West Hartford-East Hartford here at Hamlin Pond. This place rules, just explore all the enjoyable
things to do in close proximity to Hamlin Pond. If you need a place to stay Fairfield Inn & Suites Plainville is a good choice, and drift down the rapids of Farmington River - Collinsville in a kayak. This lake is so wonderful.
There's great hiking along the Mattabesset Trail, and camping is available at Camp Eagle Feather. This lake is so wonderful. There are good spots to look at along the Metacomet Trail, and Powder Ridge has wonderful slopes and a friendly
staff. A great nearby hotel is Holiday Inn Express SOUTHINGTON; why not camp at Gentile's Camp Ground since you're here at Hamlin Pond. While you're here at Hamlin Pond, you could also take a look at beautiful Hamlin Pond, and
it's a great idea to visit Scott Swamp Brook. Hamlin Pond gets a lot of water; during the month of August you get the most rain around here, and February is when it's the driest.
