If you are traveling by, why not stop by Hamlin Pond. This lake is so wonderful. Very picturesque scenery and magnificent skiing is what you get at Mount Southington; you'll meet a lot of folks from New Haven-Milford here. And if that's not sufficient, there's a lot more to do close to Hamlin Pond. A great place to have a look at in close proximity to Hamlin Pond is Cooks Gap, and in the neighborhood of Hamlin Pond you stumble on a golf course called Hawk's

| | Landing Country Club. You'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Powder Ridge while you're here, and the top of Bradley Mountain is easily observed from Hamlin Pond. Hamlin Pond sees pretty high levels of precipitation; of all the months in a year August is the one with the most rain; February is when it's the driest. warm beds await you at Holiday Inn Express Southington, Connecticut. Whitewater paddling is great on Farmington River - Riverton, and after a long day outdoors Fairfield Inn & Suites Plainville is a glorious location to spend a night
or two. If only every site had this much outdoors amusing stuff, what a great earth it would be. Loon Lake is a nearby lake that you could stop by, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Hamlin Pond; Tunxis Trail is a good local
trail. A quick trip to Patton Brook right next door to Hamlin Pond is a great idea, and Plainville Reservoir Dam is a pretty location. A lake close by is Farmington Reservoir, and the Metacomet Trail offers hiking at its best.
Hamlin Pond is right by the Mattatuck Trail, and Hamlin Pond is near Talcott Mountain State Park which is a beautiful spot. Why not camp at Gentile's Camp Ground while you're here at Hamlin Pond, and if you don't mind getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Farmington River - Collinsville.
