Plainville Reservoir Dam is worth checking out while you're here, and Fairfield Inn & Suites Plainville is a fine location to get some rest. Just can't get enough of Hamlin Pond. Don't leave Hamlin Pond without stopping by Talcott Mountain State Park; why not pop by nearby Patton Brook if you're here at Hamlin Pond. | | Eagle Feather is a good local campground. Much precipitation falls at Hamlin Pond; the month of August is the wettest with most of the rain; the driest month is February. Whitewater paddling is great on Farmington River - Collinsville; people from New Haven-Milford love to come here. here why not go to Cooks Gap. A pretty lake like Hamlin Pond right next door to Hamlin Pond is a delightful place to visit, and paddling on Farmington River - Riverton is so much fun. But wait, there's more to do near Hamlin Pond.
Near Hamlin Pond you stumble on the Metacomet Trail which is a great hiking trail; you can never get enough of the splendid skiing at Powder Ridge. During the summer months highs here at Hamlin Pond get into the 70's. Once the sun
is down it descends down to the 50's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 20's, and night lows in the 10's for Hamlin Pond. The Tunxis Trail is a tremendous hiking trail in the vicinity of Hamlin Pond, and skiing at Mount Southington is one of those things you just should do.
