Nathan Hale Inn And Conference Center is a great location to get some rest; there are some delightful whitewater spots on Natchaug River. There's whitewater on Quaboag River for all you adrenaline kick people; you can stay the night at Moosemeadow Camping Resort. Not far from Halchek Pond you get some good water scenery at Halchek Pond Dam; Halchek Pond is a pleasant location to visit for more than one day, Wilderness Lake       is a pleasant location to camp nearby. Summertime highs at Halchek Pond generally tend to be in the 80's, and the nighttime is a tad cooler of course, generally in the 60's. Highs throughout the wintertime are typically in the 30's; nighttime lows at Halchek Pond during the winter generally drop into the 10's. All the water falling down from the sky makes Halchek Pond a wet place; most of the rain falls throughout May while February is mostly the driest                  month. This lake is so wonderful. Lakes are such peaceful locations, why not pop by Ruby Lake in close proximity to Halchek Pond. What a place this is for outdoors people. A delightful close by hotel is Rodeway Inn Willington, and the sight of Parker Mountain is striking. This lake is so wonderful. When you're here at Halchek Pond it's always fun to visit Mansfield Hollow State Park, and you'll hit upon a pretty lake called Arnold Ponds.
