Dry warm beds await you at Madison Beach Hotel, and nearby you hit upon the Mattabesset Trail which is a fine hiking trail. All the water falling down from the sky makes Hackney Pond a wet place; May is the wettest month with most rain, and the driest month of the year is February. The Washington Trail is a tremendous hiking trail near Hackney Pond, and at Hidden Lake Dam right next door to Hackney Pond there are some interesting things to see. If you like

| | skiing, you're in luck; Powder Ridge is in close proximity to Hackney Pond, and if the weather is brilliant, you can go for a hike along the Mattabesset Trail. All the outdoors enjoyable stuff close to Hackney Pond will keep you coming back time and again. A lake nearby is Fricks Pond, and after a long day outdoors A Victorian Village Inn is a great spot to spend a night or two. on Salmon River is so much fun. Camping is available at Little City Campground, and whitewater paddling is great on Hammonasset River. This lake is so wonderful. Hackney Pond is not the only spot close by, Turkey Hill Reservoir
is a close by lake, and one of the major traits of the surroundings of Hackney Pond is Goose Hill. Having a perfect time at Hackney Pond is uncomplicated. There are plenty of folks from Hartford-West Hartford-East Hartford here at
Hackney Pond. This lake is so wonderful. A visit to Haddam Meadows State Park when you're here at Hackney Pond is never a bad idea, and if you came for an overnight stay Riverdale Camp Sites is a wonderful spot to camp. During
the months of summer at Hackney Pond temperatures are regularly in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures fall down into the 50's. Daytime highs through the winter are in the 30's; throughout the dark hours in the winter at Hackney Pond temperatures descend to the 10's.
