But wait, there's more to do close to Griswold Reservoir. Mill Woods Pond is a tremendous lake near Griswold Reservoir, and a brilliant site for whitewater paddling is Roaring Brook River. This lake is so wonderful. At Griswold Reservoir you can catch a glimpse of Cedar Mountain, and Powder Ridge is a nice local       ski area. Take a little journey to Collier Brook while you're here at Griswold Reservoir, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Griswold Reservoir; Mattabesset Trail is a great local trail. Griswold Reservoir is a rather wet place typically with a good deal of rain; May is when you get the most rain here while February is ordinarily the driest month. Residence Inn Hartford Rocky Hill is a great spot to get some rest, and the slopes of Mount Southington                  are so inviting nobody can resist. Lakes are such serene sites, why not take a look at Bell Reservoir in the neighborhood of Griswold Reservoir, and camping at Camp Eagle Feather is always a great experience. When you're here at Griswold Reservoir it's always fun to have a look at Dinosaur State Park. This lake is so wonderful. The Metacomet Trail offers hiking at its best; camping is available at Nelson's Family Campground. This place, Griswold Reservoir, it definitely has so much outdoors fun stuff. Farmington River is a wonderful whitewater spot in the neighborhood of Griswold Reservoir, and for you golfers we recommend nearby Rolling Green Golf Club. Summer at Griswold Reservoir comes with high temperatures in the 80's. Summer overnight lows plunge down to the 50's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 30's; during the dark hours in the wintertime at Griswold Reservoir temperatures dip to the 10's.
